Gospel Announcers Guild Awards

Awards are given to recipients who have displayed a significant contribution to his/her radio station, audience, community and/ore respective ministry.

Horizon Award
In the dawn of their radio career 5 years of less, shows a promising career, and an up and coming personality.
Aunt Pauline Wells Hall of Fame Award
Ten plus years of membership in the GAG. Exhibits a spirit of humility and commitment to service, strong rock tower, precious jewel, available, accessible and reliable

Aunt Pauline Wells was Dean of the Gospel Announcers Guild and was recognized as the premier announcer and broadcaster for her knowledge and years of experience. Her personality exemplified all that a model gospel announcer should be. She set a high standard.
 
Willie "Deacon" McKinstry Award
Spirit-filled witness for Christ. Shows an infectious love and warmth for people. Not ashamed to tell of His goodness, anytime , anywhere to anybody.

Deacon Willie McKinstry was the first President of the Gospel Announcers Guild before Rev. Cleveland changed the title to Chairman. Deacon McKinstry was always full of the Spirit  and would acknowledge the greatness of the Lord anytime, any place, in front of anyone. He would shout on a dime.
Sugar Poindexter Award
Given to a person that exemplifies the attributes of "Sugar" with significant contributions, dedication and loyalty and character to gospel music industry.

Delores "Sugar" Poindexter a living legend, is a former Vice Chair of the Gospel Announcers Guild who we salute with an award in her honor for faithful and extremely dedicated service. Sugar exemplified courage and continues to keep coming despite her health challenges.
Print Media Award
Addresses the needs of the gospel industry community. Exhibits journalistic integrity and represents broad spectrum of gospel.
 
Radio Promoter of the Year Award
Regional or national service. Professional innovative marketing skills. Follow-through with servicing with a friendly positive demeanor.
 
Record Label of the Year Award
Consistency in technical quality of releases. Consistency in Charting. Outstanding packaging craftsmanship and outstanding sales.
Announcer of the Year Award
Exemplifies a high degree of talent and expertise, quality, integrity and professionalism in gospel radio programming.
